Hi all having a nightmare finding a good black sand for my tank is calcium sand ok with rays i cant mess this up again i already got peeved once on buying fine gravel cheers

yup it will buffer your PH... how about black tile?

If you are referring to beach sand, it does comprise mostly of calcium carbonate which can increase both the pH and KH. pH is not normally an issue. KH is. Why not try the pool sand?

I have pool sand, cheap and is effective. only down side is that it doesn't look the best

Cheers guys pool filter sand does not have the best looking colour . Most blacks i have seen contain calcium . Cant tile it now to late one ray is in i seen limpopo black sand or tahitan moon as anyone used any of theses sands .Estes is usa dred to think postage on 80kg of sand .
