Calcuta Cichlid????

Anyone ever heard of these??An LFS in the city has 2 of these guys,they look like Africans but were in a ph of 7.They are white colored with grey and brown markings on them and have pointed snouts.I cant find any info on them and the sales person knows nothing about them.Any help is appreciated,thanks!!!:drool:
 
look up....Etroplus canarensis....Was that one it?

Or maybe calvus.....
 
Yes it looked like a white Calvus, it is an african right??Well this store was keeping them in reg.water at a ph of 7.So if someone who didnt know would buy this fish only to have it die an early death!!

Not necessarily. Stable tank params are favorable to constantly mucking around with your water to get it just right.
If one keeps their water good and clean there should be no reason one couldn't keep Lake Tang cichlids in neutral water.
