Alright guys, so now that the accident is all cleaned up and the new tank is up and running (still have some things to paint) I finally put my ray back in, and found a male ray that was her size. Before he went in she was very light colored, now that he's in there she's got what I call her mood spots back. He was a nice dark tan color when I bought him and a week later he's lighted up almost to a white. Is there something in their diet they are missing or are they trying to match the light sand? Or do they need certain lights to keep the dark color? They seem happy and very well fed. Thanks guys.

It can be a variety of things that's causing it, most likely a combination of the stress of the move, and trying to hide a bit. That said, is he still eating well? Low appetite is the #1 sign that something is wrong.

My female is very light in color compared to the other 5 I have in there allthough they are starting to lighten up some too. The last four were really dark but not so much now, but acting healthy and eating behavior is just fine. Could be something to do with their surroundings and when they are stressed from being caught and transported and other things which will make them change colors just like other fish. Once everything settles down they will be fine.

Oh yes, these two eat VERY well... :) I have never had a problem getting them to eat, I was just worried about the color cause I'm looking at him this morning and he's so very light... Maybe they are trying to blend in cause they are in white sand in my tank. But they move around and get excited for food and don't apprear to be stressed (unless it's past feeding time) or sick. Thank you guys.

The other warning sign is red bumps/dots on the underside.

To be honest, sounds like they're fine. As long as they're eating, rays are usually ok.
