Today i picked up 2 high quality XB and a SR they where practically given to me. They have issues ...
The person who gave them to me travels a lot and does not have the time to care for all the fishes he has.

Case 1.

SR: 1. the obvious its a Super red that is not red . but still a nice shine
2. its got gill curl on 1 side
3. its got some warts things on the face and tail.

i am treating with 2% salt and pimafix, temp at 80, good flow in tank and good oxygen, good water 40% WC bi-weekly
Im pretty sure i can get rid of wartz with that. But will the gill curl regress ???? Its my first time dealling with gill curl.
any imput on GC would be greatly appreciated
I will post case 2 and 3 tmw

Ive never had to deal with it either, but when I google it I see people on youtube doing operations....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3h1_gWaIQJ8 Best of luck.
They should have sedated the arowana before performing any type of surgery on it..
Having said that, if you really plan to operate on the gill curl by yourself, only cut off the soft part..
If by any chance you accidentally cut off the hard gill plate, they won't grow back and hence exposing the gill which is not very pleasant but it will live..

color will come - i was despairing on my SR -now it is gaining color nicely. hmmm never had gill curl on aros so no advise there mate

I did a gill curl op on my old RTG. It's easy really. Sedate, take out of tank, cut it off and the job is done.

I don't know and i wouldn't try. Can you imagine if you made a bad cut and it's eye fell off?:WHOA:
I was bricking it when i did the gill curl cuts, never mind an eye.
