Hey there
What a well-hidden bunch you are! I was given a link by a friend of mine and couldn't resist coming in and having a stickybeak
I was quite interested in photography well before I became interested in fish, and even toyed with the idea of trying my hand at professional equine photography. The decision was made far easier when it occurred to me that, although somewhat creative, my work lacked finesse AND whenever you make a job out of a hobby, it often ceases to be any fun at all. Then fish came into my life, and *gasp* the SLRs are in their baggies in my wardrobe, only dragged out for formal events or family gatherings. Much to the distress of my teacher, I have spent the last 5 years or so with PAS digital
I am still plodding around on a Canon G2, but it has served me well for the last year or so, so i'm not in a hurry to upgrade just yet (although i'm dying for something that will let me change lenses!) There is a G5 and a bunch of lenses and filters hanging around somewhere, but i cannot for the life of me figure out how to turn the roaming focus off, and its owner has conveniently lost the manual
I recently tried aquatic piccies with my SLR, and i'm suprised at the result. No blur! identifiable fish! And here I was thinking digital would make my brain go soggy!
Completely the opposite!
Looking forward to meeting everyone and learning a few new things along the way
