Hey I am going to be checking out this 240 gallon acrylic tank and the seller told me it has a crack on the top of the tank, I am a little leery about that and have no idea how you repair it or even if you could.:confused:

Would you guys say it is safe to buy and able to repair?
or pass it up- I am willing to put in the time if that's what it takes to get it done

thank you all, I just want a big tank so bad after seeing some of the monsters on this site

Is it on like the top panel? You might be able to use acrylic glue or something... not an expert though might be wrong

I guess it all depends on the size and location of the crack, but just about any acrylic tank can be repaired. Just get another piece of acrylic for a patch and then use Weld-on to glue it on the tank. This creates a very strong bond. I have seen numerous acrylic tanks fixed this way.

It sounds minor to me. I think you can get away with fixing that, no problem. Just need to use the proper materials. See if you can post a picture of the crack.
