Calling All Catfish Experts

I was at an LFS and that had a catfish that looks exactly like a Tigrinus but without the stripes and it is almost silver or platinum in color. I ask the owner and he said it was call "Silver Dorado" catfish. I haven't been able to find it anywhere on the web but his asking price for a 6-8" was $350.00. Any idea?

Yep, paraiba varient that only comes around so often at a small size. Price sounds about right, give or take $50.

Goslinea platynema....exactly like a Tigrinus,new name (Brachyplatystoma tigrinum) but like you say without the stripes,these cats are generally shipped from Peru.On close inspection these cats have flat broad maxillary barbles also,something not found with Tigs.
