no were
currently I have a Florida Gar around 7" looking to add an Alligator Gar to the same tank what is their compatibility, will they coexist or am I looking at massive confrontations???

they get pretty large and aggressive...

there is goin to be issues. dont!!
and post in the gar forum. we love to have more people.

Well they moved me into the gar section were this should be. So u are saying i could have a major problem if i add the Gator. That would break my 5 year old's hart. She picked out the Florida gar AKA (long nose)

long nose and florida are different species.
what size is the tank?? stick with floridas and if you want the beefy look with a smaller size go with a tropical gar. they are awesome!!! congrats on the gar and give some pics!!!!

Its my little ones fish she named him (long nose) go figure. Dont have any pics of any of the fish, but the gar is about 7 to 8" and at this time is the 90 gal starter tank. But the 180 is in the near future just started setting it up for its new residents .

cool. again if u want a beefier gar with same req as floridas go tropicals. they are nice and max out the same size.

Your 180g won't hold a gator gar. You need a bigger tank or a pond as they get to 6 feet in captivity. Florida gar barely reach 20" in captivity and if you want a gar that looks like a gator gar, go for a tropical gar as they don't grow as big as the gator gar.

Gator Gar is definitely not a good idea for a 180...unless this is a grow out tank?
