ok, i made a run to my lfs to get my african b-fly a mate/fellow sufrace dweller. while browsing the store i found a tank full of the oddest fish ever.
the tank had 2 kinds of fish with the same colors but drasticly different bodyshapes. both appear to be either cave dwellers of very low light fishes.
the first ones looked like basking sharks, with a rounded nose, a high dorsal fin and a gaping mouth that appeared un-closeable. they're eyes were tiny, on the front of thy're face on either side of the rounded nose and facing twords the bottom of the tank. they were a shade of light blue up top and a pale pink/offwhite underneath. these the lfs owner called blue dolphins and is asking $25.
the second ones had a dojo loach like body but a light blue on top and the same offwhite/pink underside. where they're gill flaps shoulld have been was a odd flat disc the same color as the underside. the eyes, again beady, were located on either side of the head.
any ideas on what these are or what genus???
