Calling all tortoise owners!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have two russian torts, boy and girl. In about a month I'll move them outside to their summer home in the backyard. Hope they finally mate! Its funny how slow they get over winter and how when the sun comes out they can really move. Had them for 3 years now. And I hate when people call them turtles!

had a 40lb sulcata. father left gate open and ran away and most likely got jacked on the street.

wanting to get an aldabra tortoise one day

Thanks guys.:) I have a greek male. I've had him for 3 years. I had a Russian before him that was wild caught. Ran away and we never found him. My friends always crack up at the thought of a tortoise runing away. Mines really fast though. He can outrun my cat. His favorite thing to do in the house in the winter is bite fingers and toes and bang his shell/head against the wall trying to walk through it. My big 90lb golden retriever is scared of him because he bites REALLY REALLY BAD. Then again he's scared of foster kittens, litter boxes, REALLY REALLY SCARED OF THINGS HOVERING OVER HIS BODY, BRUSHES, WATER, NOISES, RAIN, ICE, THE LIST GOES ON... my Jack Dempsey is scared of everything that moves. Every pleco I've had has been antisocial. I once had a dog that ate so many socks the lawn was white. We spent 300$ a month buying new ones. He figured out how to open the washer and dryer with his nose and have an all you can eat buffet. My old cat once brought in a live hawk through the side door. She was only 6 lbs and the hawk was twice her size at least. It took 30 minutes of window-opening and freezing weather inside the house to get it out. My hampster once bit me so hard we couldn't get him off and they had to surgically remove him. NOT KIDDING IT HURT!!! I was 8 years old and from then on he was called buster, the devil incarnation hampster. He's buried in our backyard. Want some more stories? I have plenty more.
