Similar to the pimelods, they need high oxygen and can be susceptible to Ich in their gills.
I didn't gather much information on them, because they are rare and do not ship well.. They are forced to ship them with extra room, which usually bumps the price up to unaffordable for most. Too many people say they look like a Pictus, but fail to realize their potential.
I had housed mine with a number of tankmates including P. Niger and Stingray, just to test temperment.. Never had any problems, just some quaraling amongst themselves.
Other than my personal import experience, I gathered very little to no information about them.
thanks for that miles. There does seem to be v little info about them on the net. Iam hoping to be getting one of these in a cuople of weeks, when i do il post some pics
Yeh they are a great fish, with a bad rep for some reason? bigger they get the better they look, the colours and pearlescent shine is gorgeous to look at. feeding was no problem, and never had any problems with it eating other fish, sensable mixing is all is that is needed. All in all a great catfish that is very underated.
