Calvus Cichlid

Yah 4-5inches for females and 5-6inches for males... but they are really cool fish to own. Like said above they will eat smaller fish but not larger fish! They are pretty intresting fish though and make great tank mates!
alright good. Think My geos will bully them. I have a Geophagus steindachneri hes like 4.5. And I have 2 Satanoperca jurapari ones like 3.5inch and ones 3. If I just get a good Size calvus I should be fine.
I know I'm going to get smoked by the goldfish with discus crowd but you're talking about putting Tanganyikans with Central Americans. In my experience Calvus do like the water hard and alkaline.

somehow I dont think Calvus will work well in a SA tank. From owning them before they tend to be a little water sensative.. or at least the ones I owned were. They need hard water but you also need to keep on the other water params for these guys.
I never mix south and africans. I know it can be done, but just because you hear a few good stories imagine all the bad things that some people dont talk about. Or worse, have to pick between which fish to keep when it doesn't work out. I hate it when people bring in south Americans because they were picking on my other fish or worse... my geo died because my aggressive africans ganged up on him. Can I get a bigger geo or an oscar this time... i want to slap those people... stupid laws... and my need for the discount... being a poor teacher
