ok so my 10 gallon guppy tank has Camallanus

i went to a LFS and they said to use PraziPro?... the ingredients said it was Praziaquantel? and oxybispropanol.

would this work? he said to soak there food in it and feed it to them untill you see them expel the worms.....
any one have any info on this product and will it work?.

i am currently looking for levamisole.. i have been told this is best but if i do not have to order something that would even be better (checking vets tomorrow as well)

dosing information on levamisole would be wonder full as well ^_^

Levamisole hydrochloride is the best you need. Fenbendazole or flubendazole is your alternative. Prazi is far too tame for nematodes. It's not an option.

ok thank you..off to fined Levamisole

Google Foy's Pigeon Supply. This is where I found my Levamisole HCL. It comes in powdered form.

I find that using a drug called Fenbendazole first, and then Levamisole after is far more effective (especially in a tank with gravel or some sort of substrate.) Fenbendazole is sold as a dog wormer called by two brand names: Panacur or Safe Guard

Fenbendazole kills the worms, their eggs, and their live-born larva. I make it into food. x mgs Fenben + x grams gelfood = medicated food fed twice a day, for three days in a row. You ABSOLUTELY MUST crush this into a super fine powder before adding it to the food, as well as adding it to the tank.

Levamisole HCL bought at Foy's Pigeon Supply will be dosed at 1/4 teaspoon per 50 gallons. What I do, is I take 1/4 teaspoon, and add it to one cup of water. This means that 1 cup of water treats 50 gallons, 1/2 cup of water treats 25 gallons. (You can also use one liter of water, if the measurements would work out better for you, but I had a hard time finding a container large enough to mix 1 liter of fluid with the medication.)

When treating with Levamisole, do as close to 100% water change before treatment, dose the tank. Leave lights off, and cover tank from light, since the medication becomes inactive in light. Leave covered for ~24 hours, then do 100% water change with HEAVY vacuuming. This particular drug only PARALYZES the worms, so you have to suck them out before the stupid guppies eat them and become infected again. (Can you tell I've been through this with guppies before?)
