I have used my iPhone to take pics of my tanks but now I'm looking to get something a bit beefier. My parents had a digital camera and I thought I'd borrow it for a few weeks as it's an upgrade to my current camera. I figured I'd learn a bit see what I liked, what I wanted more of in a camera and then buy myself one.

My question is, whenever I zoom in the image becomes extremely blurry, what feature on a camera makes the image stay sharp when zooming?
