Ok, here's the deal. I'm going tomorrow to register (again), and the destination is Target. This is the second place we're registering for our wedding, and I've almost convinced my fiance to let me register for a camera. So, I need help picking out the best (MFK) camera I can get....from Target. Here's a link to their camera page, anybody that can help, please do.

Now all I have to do is finish convincing her that we need to register for an X-box 360 :headbang2

Last time I was at Target they had both the Canon XT Rebel and Nike D40. Either of those two are awesome and shouldn't be more than $600.

Nikon by far, they have the best optics of any of them. Next time you go to the eye doctor, look at the manufacture(sp?) on their equipment. 9 times out of 10, it is either Nikon or Topcon. I work for Wilson & Assoc. Engineering & Surveying and we only use Topcon or Nikon. I am planning on getting the Nikon D200 with my tax return. It's a bad+ss camera!!!

Ever watch a sporting event (like the NFL), ever notice the WHITE LONG Lenses on the sidelines....CANON..baby...:naughty:..

Seriously I was in your shoes when I bought my Camera. Best thing to do is try to go and feel both of them that is on display. See what feels good to you. Read about the specification and see what will feed your need. Don't get into the issue of Canon vs Nikon ordeal.

Reason I bought a Canon is because I knew a handful of people that already had a Canon and i can always borrow their lens.

You can't go wrong w/neither.
