Hey guys, my buddies and I want to start an annual fishing/camping trip this year. We live in Fort Wayne Indiana. I was wondering if anybody knew any good spots for some good fishing and camping around Indiana or surrounding states. We have a boat to take along as well.

Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Me and 5 or so friends go down to Monroe every year for the same thing. Stay at a camp site close to the lake and spend all day on the water fishing, swimming, tubing etc. Spend all night drinking:nilly:

Monroe is a little far from you though.

monroe would be a good place to go. Lots of bass, walleye, stripers, flathead, channel cats and about everything else.

I honestly had no idea there were walleye in Monroe

I've been to ludington Michigan a couple times as a kid and loved it. Lots of places with cabins and a state park for camping. The lake is man made and of good sized, lower part is close to 100' deep and has lots of variety. Haven't been on the upper. The damn is a couple miles from lake Michigan, you can fish or use it as a lazy river. The have a breakwater in lake Michigan where the pull out a lot of salmon and perch.

We used to camp at shades state park a lot before my friends started breeding and its a lot of fun but the boat would be useless. Sugar creek runs through the park. I haven't fish it but have seen gar while canoeing and read a kid caught a 38## flathead there this year.

Never been to Monroe but have heard great things about it.

Chain o lakes or potatoe creek are my two personal favorites.
