Can a Florida and a Shortnose live together?

sure, as long as their about the same size and have plenty of elbow room

i have 2..a flordia and a gator, both about the same size (14") and sometimes they like snuggle up with eachother when they lay on the gravel......precious i know.....they also seem to follow eachother around.

i have 2 spotted n 1 shortnose. shortnose does grow the fastest. all 3 get along great. they like to huddle up sometimes. pretty cool.

How much do shortnose usually go for?

i have no idea. they dont sell them in any of my lfs. i got the group of 3 for 80 which sounded like a deal to me. they were all 10-12" at the time.

I agree keep them close in sise...although there was one instance when my gator gar had my short nose in his mouth for a bit, didnt last long i think the shortnose just got in the gators way. good luck

near same size is a must. i threw in a 7" spotted gar with my 3 original gars, n it was toast within 4 hours.
