can a 18 inch arowana eat my small datnoid?

It just depends on your fish itself. I've had 18"-20" Aros with 4" datnoids with no problem. I didn't have hiding place, but if you want you could add hiding places, just in case.

The aro probably won't eat the tiger but may kill it trying

The tiger has a very sharp dorsal fin and the aro may take a bite at the tiger feel the sharp dorsal then spit it back out

I have kept 4-5 inch tigers with 20inch Asia aros with no problems

I find if the tank is bare with no hiding places it works better with small fish and large aros

If the aro sees a small fish poping in and out of a hiding place he will attack it everytime he sees it

If the aro sees the small fish all the time it gets used to it and after some time takes no notice of it

if you have a silver aro than it is fine, ive seen some big aros with little guys and they were fine, but if you have a jardini than no.

He is good. Test him with 1 inch silver datnoids for 4 days. All good...the silvers acutally chase him. Just put in my 3-4 inch indos. feel safe. THANKS everyone. he only understands frozen shrimp filled with pellets as food.
