I have a cichlid that likes to move sand around like some do.
He always chooses the same area of the aquarium. Cleans it bare down to the glass.
I noticed the other day that the black silicone aquarium sealant in the area he pecks at seems to be just slightly peeling away. Just a quarter inch in length.
I'm not even sure if this is normal or am I overthinking that he could possibly be causing this?
Has anyone ever heard of a cichlid compromising the
aquariums integrity by weakening the sealant from eating at it?
Is this even possible?
Thank you in advance if anyone can offer insight into this.

It's possible for a Cichlid to compromise things in the aquarium but unintentionally.

I placed a flat rock in this area of the aquarium. Pushed all the sand back.

I hope this enough of a deterrent.

Hopefully this will break his obsession with pecking at the sealant and perhaps he will just move sand without getting close to that edge again.
