Can a clown knifes spots split?

Hey everyone I've noticed over the last year or so that my knifes spots seem to be splitting. I've seen big CK's that have yellow in the middle of their spots is this what's happening to mine as it gets older? First pic is when I first got it and the others were just taken.

Yeah I'm pretty sure its normal

As they grow there spots can change. My rcks spots slowly turn into stripes as he gets new spots to replace them. Its normal.

Spots can change as they grow. My CK I originally named "Freckles" because it had some light spotting around the top, right before the dorsal fin. He's grown a couple inches and *POOF* The Freckles name has been retired.

to the OP lovely CK. My favourite fish mines spots are splitting as well as hes growing which seems to be rapidly at the moment.

Can there spots disappear as they grow?
