I was told no due to PH issues but IMO PH is not an issue at all. Most fish adjust. I was told no so I bought something else...now I'm thinking I was told wrong.

FYI, My fish at the time were BP's (wifes) and a Chocolate.

generally it is best to keep old world cichlids and new world cichlids apart, but the one time i accidently did it i found no problems with a frontosa co-existing in a new world style habitat.

Yeah my PH is steady(high but steady 8.0). That really kinda honks me off that I didn't get a Front now. I got a GT instead that I really really like. Oh well. Maybe in ther future.

oh well you will really like your GT at least, Beautiful fish

True, maybe when the wifes BP's kick it I can get a couple Fronts. Anybody know the lifespan of BP's? :D

the only thing you need to watch if you are going to mix them is fronts are very laid back, mellow fish where most of your sa/ca's are decently agressive thats what I would watch out for. As for pH I wouldnt worry to much just make sure its a good level and is steady. I keep 2 fronts a JD and a Datnoid in a tank together fine.

Thanks for the info everyone. A Front will probably be my next fish. It will just be a long long time from now. lol

Having kept Fronts before, I'd say No on mixing them with CAs. Although they are territorial, they are also timid and no where near as agressive as most similiar sized CAs. If you really want to keep an african with CAs, go with a Buttacofferi. Those things are like Pit Bulls and are basically the "African Equivelent" to a Midas/RD.

Although I'm not very fond of the personality of Fronts, IMO they are still hands down the most beautiful large cichlid in existence. Of course this is just my opinion.
