Unfortunately my 300 gallon didn't make it into the house before disaster struck and I have been wondering if it's possible to have it repaired. Only the front and back panels are broken. Everything else is good.

Oh and I would only like this to be done by a professional or at least someone with experience. I don't want to try this one on my own lol

it will have to be broken down and resealed all the way around. IMHO, def a job for a prof, may turn out to be cheaper to just get another tank but def worth looking into first.

side panel at we will say 3ft width and 27" height is around $200. The 6ft panel (or 8ft?) would easily be another 400. Definitely cheaper to buy a new one or a used. Sell yours for $150 or build a nice plywood build

8x2 glass panel for 144 from glass cages with 50 dollar shipping to a near by city so 350 for the glass. Reseal job may be 100 or 500depending on person. New glass 300 for 1200 - 1500

Can you guys give me information for someone who does it in Orange County CA?

I got a quote from glass cages. if you guys are getting them for $160 that's a steal.
"72" x 48" x 1/2" glass x 3 = $648

Freight on a pallet to a truck terminal in Toronto, you p/u there = $375
________
Total = $1023 USD

You do not need a broker for this shipment, however, you might have to pay some Canadian Sales tax when you go to pick up pallet.

Call on phone to order or discuss. Mention you have an email quote when you call."

A tank is something I never mess with. Once its broken I wouldn't trust it even after a repair that is just me. I have heard way too many horror stories and god forbid that happens can actually ruin your carpet your floors and much more.

I had a leak in one of my tanks. I caused the leak I banged on the tank by accident and I can see where it dripped from. I emptied the tank right below it leaked and siliconed it. I had it like that for 2 years and ended up giving it away since it was a 40 gallon tank.

Okay so locally in Chicago I can get a 300 gallon tank for 800-1000 without negotiation.

I would take a loss sell the tank as/is and find a tank. Repairing doing this and that not only is time consuming but its cheaper to just get a used tank.

MY wife finally decided to let me back into the hobby. Only after promising I wouldn't buy any more tanks off of CL. I had a 125 that I bought for $400. Great deal, nice stand, TONS of extras, lasted about 6 months.... Till I got the call while work that it had sprung a leak..... Yeah.... Only expensive NEW tanks for me from now on...

Its a hit or miss with tanks used! I know tons of people who bought used tanks and had them for many years. Silicone doesn't last forever so thats that.

A new tank your looking at 10 years out of the tank minimum and maybe more. Silicone will break down and spring a leak.

True, but that was the only way I could convince the 'Management" into letting me get another one. :)
