In my grow out tank I have a female GT and male JD, they've been together for 6 months and are now about 4". Lately she's been shimmering and shaking in front of him, she's dug a hole and the two of them do not allow any fish near the corner of the tank, there is a male GT in the tank but she's always with the JD. They are definitely acting like a pair. Is this even possible?

Since they are both substrate spawning Herine cichlids from closely related tribes it is very possible.
As to whether or not, it is a good ida, is an entirely different matter

Yea I wasn't wanting it to happen that's why I had another GT in there, but now that it's happening I might let them and see what happens. I'll just feed the fry to my other fish. Not a fan of hybrids but my curiosity is getting the better of me.....
