Can a Malnourished fish be forcefed to save its life??

I have a Chain Pickeral near death....its young, about 7 inches long and very sickly thin. I just found him in my outdoor pond. He can barely swim unless I grab him.....sort of curled up and upside down at the surface.....water was 47 degrees. I have him inside in a bucket with an airstone. Any suggestions......Quick he is dying!!

well not really much you can do unless just grab him by the tail and push him back and forth to get water to run past his gills that would be the only thing you dont want to put him in any different water because the shock will kill him
