on fish in the tank? I installed a 40w aqua uv on the 750 over the weekend, when feeding yesterday I noticed some white marks on the head of one of the Tems in the tank.
Is this possible? Is it possible to have to big of a UV?

It is the same fish that has been so problematic since I got it. When I got the fish he has some plack marks on his mouth that went away. Then he had what looks like HITH near his gill plate, now this.

can you post a picture???

Sounds like the fish, not the UV.

I would say that it could either be the start of ICH or just a few small scrapes...

The UV system only treats the water while it is in the UV system. The sterilized water is constantly mixed back into the nonsterile tank. It reduces the amount of bacteria and pathogens in the tank but it will never make it totally sterile. Therefore, your fish can still develop problems. A UV isn't a cure-all but it is as close to one as you can get. You may have to remove the fish to a hospital tank for treatment.
