can african cichlids go in brackish water?

i have two silver tipped sharks in with my africans and i wanted to make the silver tipped sharks brackish:headbang2

thanks

I would say no for the africans. Too high of a salinity will make them prone to disease if it doesn't kill them. I don't know anything about bichirs, but my guess would be no

I think I can safely say no on that one. Africans are designed to handle a high mineral content, high pH, high GH and KH, but not that high of a salinity. If the osmotic stress doesn't kill them then problems arising from weakened immune systems will.
