Can any one help me sex my dovii

I just got the dovii two days ago its 8 inches long aperntly a year and a half old I think it's a female but the guy I got it from said its a male

Judging by the fins it looks male to me.

That one reminds me of a female i had. The males I've had were always more spotted and lost the solid line through the middle.
