I think it an Cryptoheros cutteri I have two of them and apparently they felt the need to spawn as you can see in the back of the pic, another question is are the layer eggs any good? Does anyone know?
Thanks Ben

Looks to me like Archocentrus multispinosus. A bit hard to tell from the pic, but if the eggs go a tannish color, they're good. If they go white, they're bad. There's multiple reasons why the eggs could fail - either you have two females, or the male is inexperienced and could not fertilize the eggs yet, for whatever reason.

Oh right thanks I think that they have gone bad then, defo got a male and female, is the common name for these rainbow cichlids?

Agree. multispinosus
Here are couple pics of cutteri
in spawning color

in non breeding color

Rainbow cichlids eggs go brown very quickly when viable. You sshould see tomorrow if they are viable or not (brown=good, white=bad).

Yea that looks like them but they have only stayed the one colour witch is the 2nd pic, well some eggs have gone white but most are darker can't quite tell how dark as they are on the wood but you can tell the difference with ease between the white ones and them, thanks for all the help

Thanks, the pic is not great but they are a really nice pair, I do believe that's the female I the big my males really nice to
