Hello, i have 5ftx2ftx2ft 3/8 thick aquarium. The one who builds it use dow corning GP general purpose silicone acetic cure. Its been 5days now and i try a leak test. Theres no leak but when the water reach 70-80% on the tank microbubbles starting to show on the bottom glass inside silicone. So i drained the tank and the microbubbles is gone. Its this normal due to water pressure or the silicone is not cure/strong enough to handle 150 gallons of water. Hope someone can help me.thanks!!!

How many bubbles how big, do they span width of glass?. Do you have any pics. A few small bubbles can be normal the silicone is about the same thing as ge1, which I've used after 2 days. I'd say it's cured.

We put water at 85% today good thing the tank dont have any leak, microbubbles start to show at 30% water but its not getting bigger but i think the bottom braces is really important.20160412_170119.jpg

Bubbles would get smaller under the compression of the water. Might be disolved air in the water coming out of solution.

Btw my tank dont have bottom braces atm. Do we need to remove the silicone first?20160411_231959.jpg

I have a few tanks with areas of bubble like that in areas, and it should be ok. However if I bought this tank and thereseal were that many I'd almost want to ask him to redo the tank. Not the most pro job. But hey I use a tank like this been full for a year and a half lol

Mine is just on the center of the bottom tank. I think thats where the pressure is concentrated. So ill add bottom braces on thursday. Should i remove the bottom silicone so theres no gap between the side glass and braces or i can put the braces near the side glass without removing the old silicone?

No worries mano!!! It's fine. If I show you some joints on some of our tanks that been running for years with bubbles and all, you would loose sleep lol.

Absolutely nothing to worry about. Add bottom braces if you want but you don't need too. Top brace more important to lock the sides together. If you do put bottom braces remove all the inside silicone add bottom braces then resilicone the inside again but I don't think you need to. It's a small tank.

What I do like to do is let silicone dry for 2 weeks min.. 5 days to short for me.

I already fill up the tank with water 2 times, you think it will affect the silicone strength or i should leave it dry for another week?
