I bought another Male flowerhorn had him for a couple of months. He ate fine was fat and active. Breed him to another flowerhorn. In Doing that he got an infection and his lips swelled up and exstended outward. I've heard it called duck lips before. I wasnt home for a couple of days when this happened. My wife told me about it and sent me pictures. I couldnt do anything for a couple of days until I got home. 2 days later my wife told me the fish is dying and theirs now a big worm that came out of its anus she also sent me a pic of the worm it was pretty long and flat. Sad to say my fish died and I couldnt get to it ontime. Now my Question is they were in a 440 gallon tank. If I take the other flowerhorn out and treat it for worms I'm guessing Tape worm and she probably has it now too. Chances are there's probably eggs or other worms in the tank and treating that much water would be realy exspensive. If I have no fish in the tank how long until the worms would die from no host and would be safe to put fish back in? Any advise would be great I never had a problem like this before.
