The frog is kind of like an army green with darker green spots all over. He has a cream belly and a yellow line between the green and cream colors on him. Right now, he's the size of a dart frog, but I sort of stole him from the science lab to save him from tormenting students, so I don't know what kind he is. We were dissecting older frogs of his breed. They were pretty big and I believe it could be a bull frog, but i want to be sure.

Could be an american bullfrog as you said
Or perhaps a green frog or leopard frog.

A pic would really help with id purposes
Check whether it has a ridges going around the eardrum only, or also going down the length of his back

Yeah with pics, you'd have an ID in minutes. It's hard to guess.

Pictures are now uploaded in my album, "My Frog". Some are of him in the fish tank, and the others are of him in his own tank. He was moved Friday.

yep definitely leopard frog

ok thanks...does anyone know what their diet is?

Their diet consists of small insects. In captivity, feed it a staple of crickets, and you can also give it mealworms sometimes, or if you can get them, small roaches (not the wild ones. Also you should dust the insects with calcium powder (sold at pet stores) like once a week or every two weeks.

i have about 4 small field grasshoppers that i got from out back and a moth in the tank. He's already eaten one of the grasshoppers and has attacked the moth, but the moth flew away from him before it could be eaten. Is this okay or does he need more variety?
