Bought this girl a couple of years ago and have never seen another one. Looks like a severum-red devil cross but not sure. The shop called him a purple rose cichlid. This is a pic from when we first got her, she's probably twice this size now.
Can anyone id this hybrid?

If the store called it that then it must be that. That's a rose queen. A red fish.. It's a nice one.

Yes that's a Rose Queen. I have a female that looks just like that. They're a cool fish. The females are almost always fertile and the males are almost always sterile. Mine actually bred with a huge male Midas a few months ago.

Yeah Burt, that looks like a nice male Rose Queen. My current female and the male I used to have both had that little mask around their eyes too.
dont know what you guys see.. but it sure looks like a kkp to me..just look at those purple spots on her.. she should be more red and more likely pop a lil head when spawning.. looks pretty nice..
