My Dad was in China a few weeks back, and some of his colleagues sent him a photo for his "fish genius son" to identify. Evidently they don't know me very well ;) . The picture won't upload, but I can give a description. It is gray on top, white on the bottom and has kind of a duck bill, but the mouth is on the bottom. I don't know if it's fresh or salt. It looks a bit like a shark, with a sawbill or something? Can anyone help? I think i've seen a few of these on here before, Hard to keep...?

Sounds like a paddlefish (Polydon spathula). This is a coldwater species with high DO demands. They're filter feeders but, are known to take minnows when larger. Round tanks are preferred since this active species has a habit of ramming and damaging its rostrum (bill). Round tanks provide for glancing hits that they can tolerate better. This is a cartilagenous species like sturgeons. They'll feed on just about anything suspended in the water column.

Forgot to mention that a true ]V[onster tank is a must for this species. Recommended tank dimensions are a minimum of 3 times adult length in diameter. That's the size of a family swimming pool:
