My brother had some like that he bought them as clawed shrimp's but he never did found out what sort exactly ,his sevrum (only 1 1/2 inch) ate them .

It's what's traditionally known as Macrobrachium rosenbergii (taxonomic review now reserves this name for the eastern variant, and M. dacqueti for the western one). This species/pair of species is found from Pakistan (Indus River border area) through Southeast Asia to Australia, and is aquacultured around the world. Very interesting aquarium subjects.
