Can anyone identify this fish??

Just got this fish as part of a deal on a used 55gallon setup. The previous owner said it was an african cichlid, but I'm not sure.

Yep.It's no cichlid,it is actually related to the gouramy but I think that it comes from Africa so he got that part right.

Yep! Leopard Ctenopoma. They get to about 5", and they eat most edible-looking items. Some will only eat live food, like Livebearer fry or Shrimp. I have one, and he eats everything from Bloodworms to earthworm segments to SIlverside pieces to flakes.
