Hello,

I recently had an ich outbreak in my tank, which I treated by raising the temperature and subsequently (when that didn't work) used NOX-Ich which cleared up the ich (but did stain the glass and wood).

Now my female GBR has a white area behind her head which has an abrasion in it. I initially thought it may just be from her scratching her body against ornaments due to the ich but i am not sure. Can anyone identify what this is?

Hard to tell with the pics. Even with the pics blown up. Looks like an ulcer. How long has it been there? How did u treat the Ich? I’d add some triple sulfa and keep that water clean.

It coincided with the ich outbreak. I would say probably 3 or 4 days after I first noticed the ich. I treated the ich with NOX-Ich.

I agree with kno4te, better closer photos are needed.
Did you raise the temp for ick treatment?
It is common after ick treatment for the lesions where the ick dug into the fish, and its immune system taxed, for secondary bacterial infections to occur, and a raised temp often makes the bacteria more virulent.
