I am buying my first asian aro....can people help me identify this fish to me.. i am buying this fish..just want to be sure of what i am buying is genuine stuff. it aparentl comes with certificate and a chip in it.. but the seller doesnt have a chip scanner..
But people who sell arowana private I mean by let's say I own this fish for 2 years getting to big for my tank so I sell it
mostly stores have the chip scanners
Privite sellers some dont
I'm pretty sure all asian arowana, regardless of breed/colour, have to be chipped in order to be exported and offered for sale as the species are on the CITES Appendix I list (most endangered, same level of protection as the Giant Panda and Blue Whale).
The problem is that most of their asian arowana are smuggled in by people who come to singapore to buy and bring back. That's why they never invest in any scanner.
And btw, that look like a RTG. And it's really under fed and got PLJ.
