They are cheap. I've seen captive bred brown banded bamboo shark pups for under $40 here.

In 10 years I've never seen CB Bamboos for sale in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area), which is hugely into the marine hobby...around here a Bamboo of that size would sell for 150-200 bucks, small ones for about 50...

Yeh but up here in canada nice fish are very hard to get most time, or at least that is the issue here in regina.

Fishbase notes that adults do not have spots, but juveniles frequently do. The bands should also fade as they grow up. I have no experience with this fish but I trust fishbase.
