Mine died today 12 years old and out of production. Anyways I need it to be reasonably priced while being quiet isnt the biggest issue I need it to power two under gravel filter tubes on a 55 gallon. Any reccomendations highly appreciated :)

I used Precision 7500 but one of the two outputs just died on me. It had been with me for abut 18 months I think. Bought Precision 8500 for the other tanks as the other output of Precision 7500 is still working well. Both are quiet. Just put a cloth under it to stop vibrations but as some airpumps have rubber legs, vibrations are hardly an issue.

Should I give it a try ?

It's up to you. They have flow adjustments unlike some other brands I tried. If there is a warranty there, then give it a try.

IMO i would buy an azzo back up battery pump..it has two outputs....high and lowmodes.....and if your power ever dies...then it will run for like 18 hours...just look it up ive had it a little while and likeit also good for transporting fish

we have had great luck with "luft pump". have one running non stop for many years now without any maintenance at all. used to be manufactured by tetra, now somebody else. brown case with flow adj knob on front. outdoor safe too. saw one recently on amazon.com for like $50. great deep water pump. single output but mine is running 3 airstones in tall tanks on sponge filters about 30 ft distance from the pump.

Wow 30 feet away thats pretty amazing. Ill have to look into all of these. I had a Rena before and it was great

I got a tetra whisper or something (Wal mart 20 bucks) its got 4 legs and two outlets made for 30-60 gallon aquariums. Its silent and is doing its job pretty well.

update - just bought another "luft pump" made by coralife. $52+shipping from amazon. have never changed a diaphragm or flapper on the old one, still working great. ime the whisper and similar brands can burn through those parts pretty quickly if they are running against a lot of pressure. great for air driven protein skimmers also.
