Oscars layed these eggs last night, they are still gaurding them, I just wanted to know if someone could tell me if they got fertilized or not. If you are able to tell..... how?

Do you have a male with her? From the looks of it they dont look fertile...but can you snap a closer shot of the eggs?

Tan ones appear to be, the white ones appear not to be.

I can try to get another shot of them, I don't know how close I can get and keep the clearity.

There are two Oscar in the tank, female which is an albino, I have watched her as she was laying them, I was able to see her egg tube. The other is a red Oscar, I saw him swiming behind her over the eggs, but was unable to see if his sexual organ was protruding. I am 99.9% sure that the red is a male though. Give me a minute I will try to get a closer pic.

white=infertile
tan=fertile
More eggs will turn white as time goes on.
You should begin seeing black dots inside each egg, those are the eyes of the fish. If you see dots, they are fertile for sure.

I am going to have to get my wife to look at them then, I am color blind and I see no difference in color (I don't see tank and white, they all look the same).

they look unfertile, as stated tan colour usually means there fert a white means theyve gone mouldy,
is this there first time?
it took my angels 3 atempts to sucsessfully fert there eggs

This is their second attempt, first time they ate all them by morning, these were layed last night. I asked my wife what color she thought they were, she said most looked tan to her except for about 4-5 looked clear/white. I have no clue, I have learned not to trust my color perception. Here is a closer pic though, it is a little dark though.

I'm just going to wait and see, you may be right. I just read that they take about three days to hatch, so I will know in a few days for sure. I am not going to remove them and raise them anyways, I am going to leave them in with the parents and see what happens. If I know that they are successfuly spawning though, I may think about raising a batch here soon.
