I'd guess it to be some kind of pimolodid but I'm not too sure with the way the face looks.Post the pics in the catfish forum and someone there should be able to identify it.No clue on the gender.

this particular Pim is known as either Pimelodus blochi or possibly Pim albofasciatus,its one or the other,on both fish the patterns are variable so its a little confusing.Both types grow to 30cm.
