hey

can they see blue lights? cause i have a blue light in my soon to be arow tank, and it is constantly on, as i havnet gotton a timer yet, so i was thinking of just leaving it on as it looks really cool. but will it bother the fish do you think? and will the light develope algea on the glass even though its blue and not white?

I have LEDs in my tank that run all night long. Forgot to adjust the timer for DST and had a 1hr gap with no lighting and was absolutely amazed at how this improved my setup. (fixed that directly ;)

On a side note, my ar0 is extremely sensitive to wide spectrum colors (e.g. yellows oranges pinks reds etc) and will dump about a gallon of water on my livingroom floor if somebody stands up too fast wearing one of these colors. Has anyone else noticed this? He's so well known for this my kids and even neighbors know to dress appropriately when coming over to visit. :D

yes, I have noticed this with my two silver aros and the colors red and orange. My black aro does not seen to have the same issues though.

When you say "blue" lights are you speaking of the LED moonlights or the actinic blue fluoresent lights?

Yes, these blue lights will cause algae.
