as the title sggests i want to put a couple in a pond im building that will be at ground level but idont want to make a fence to keep them in so will they escape

I've not heard of them leaving the water through choice. They are fully aquatic, and can't really support themselves on land, so they sort of wriggle when taken out the water. I don't think it would be much of a concern, but I would be worried about predators such as birds eating them.

there fully aquatic.. i currently have 3... but you hsould always cover just to keep from them accidently ending up out of water... also they must be kept in cold water.

they can live on land but their lives will be extremely shortened. If you want to make it live on land you should lower the water over several months. I read this in 25 best reptiles and amphibians for pets.
