I know the are all carnivores, but can a bgk be alright with them. I am setting up a 125 for a oscar.jack and a convict and have been wanting a knife since i got rid of my clown back in the day. This will be my final big tank and will be ran off of sponge filters.there will be pvc. driftwood and clay pots

I have never had any problems doing this. as long as the BGK has a hiding place too small for the big cichlids to enter. BGKs are nocturnal so they are out and about at night when the cichlids are dormant. I wouldn't keep one in a breeding setup because they will eat all the fry in one night.

I've got one in my CA/SA display tank and haven't had any problems. Just make sure as stated above, that you provide your BGK his/her own home in the tank.

I have PVC in tank and flowerpots another question. Will he be ok ok in a 125 community with lemons and swordtails being the smallest for a while. I am in process of acquiring this tank but Lfs is holding him for a short amount of time. I have a 55 with a 6 in JD or put him in the other 125 with blood parrots a sevrums. Only reason I am rushed is because he is big and no where hardly gets them near me
