Hi all,

I have a 4-5" BGK for about 2 weeks. My LFS said he was eating frozen blood worms and brine shrimp.

Thankfully (and amazingly) the past few nights he's been eating tilapia and carnivore pellets. And by eating, I mean literally pigging out. He eats until his stomach is bulging! Whats tough about this is I'm trying to get good amounts of food to my ropefish and baby ornate bichir, but the BGK can't seem to help himself.

Is there legit concern about this guy eating too much, or will he have enough self-control to stop eating? Even though I can't believe how big and round his stomach gets..

They can overeat. Just feed every 2 days till the bellies reduce in size. This should work fine for the rope and ornate.

Most bgks are captive bred now so I have a feeling they have a chance to over eat. Similar to cb polys.
