Hey MFKers,

A friend of mine wants to culture Creek Chubs (Semotilus atromaculatus) and Stoneroller Minnows (Campostoma anomalum) for her Master's thesis. I was wondering if anyone has HEARD of anyone who has bred them in captivity (aquaculture facilities too). She just wants to know where she can get info.

Since I'm a fish guy, she asked me. And since you are all fish people, I figured I would ask you in addition to my own research.

Thanks!

I found some papers on culturing creek chubs, but no places that do it currently. I am still searching for information on the stonerollers.

BUMP!!

Beings how your lady friend is working on her thesis, she may want to check with your local Dept. of Fish and Game or possible local fisheries departments, where they have knowledgeable staff, with the hopes of acquiring possible documentation from other learned people of the types of fish species. Also try checking with the local university's ichthyology department heads. Maybe some of their former students have written published papers which can be acquired directly from the university library, too.
Good luck with your searching for the info.
