I wanted to know if driftwood can be shipped inernationaly without any problems.. Does it have to be cured and quarantined ? Does it require a permit ?

Not sure about the permit, but I ordered some amazing driftwood off of ebay, came in a box with those stupid little white foam balls. sank within 1 hour of being in the tank.

I just put it in the tank, no problems yet.

I wanted to know because.. It's really cheap here.. (well i think it is).. It goes by weight.. About 3$ for a Kg.. Cheap or expensive ?

i can get a peice 12'' high for like 10 bucks

Thats not bad.

I spent i believe 100$ for 2 peices shipped to me, *that was the total*

Depends on country it's being sent to and what their quarantine laws are. I imagine it would be quite difficult to get rough driftwood into NZ without having the whole container fumigated. Too much risk of bringing in an insect pest.

You will need to check with the customs officials in each country to see what the rules are.

Cheers

Ian
