I got a whole heap of convicts with the idea of finding a female to raise up to put in with my male albino convict. Any ways, out of 8 I got one pair.(cant believe my luck, all my cichlids end up male). I left them together and separated them from the others with a glass partition, leaving 2 on the other side. I've heard a male cichlid with nothing to defend can turn on the female. After 3 attempts at eggs, one lot hatching then disappearing, he hogs the nest area and she is up hiding behind the filter. Is this normal? Have they gone off each other?

Usually on there first few attempts they dont do so good, but as they get more experienced, becuase they are probably not used to it.. just put another one in ther that is a mal or female give him more *****es to pimp.....

Breeding is more mechanical then afection. What that means is the female is probably laying eggs inside that pot because of a trigger. Not because she was ready to settle down and have a family. They will do it..... and then they will do it again. kinda like other mechanical things (bowel movements, gas) they are messy at first but with a little practice your useing the ****ter no problem.

- Toilets were invented by a guy named ****ter. thats where the term came from. later when other companies started to produce them on a commercial scale they were named toilet, which a french term refering to good hygene.
