I'm treating two of my fish right now for a random ICH outbreak and they haven't eaten in two days. I tried adding food again today and they didn't even look at it. Is this a possible side affect of ICH or am I looking at another illness here as well?

Yes, some won't eat if they are sick. Give them some time to get over the ick.

Cool, thanks. I don't usually get my fish sick so when it happens I freak out and look at different medicines to order, but things usually clear up before I ever buy meds with just W/C's and salt.

Did you add anything new to the tank? Do you always quarantine every new arrival? If so, how long?

Add garlic on the food. What is the temperature right now? Just do heat and salt. No need to resort to meds.

Nope nothing new, I usually quarantine for a week or two. The heat was at 80, I've been raising it slowly and its now at around 83. And yeah no meds. I'll stick with heat and salt. One of those fish had white growth on its eye yesterday and I freaked out when I saw it and did a W/C it's gone away a bit. May I ask what the garlic does? And will I have to put it in some shrimp to maybe entice them to eat it more? I dropped the usual pellets they loved and they were ignored.

Garlic has a very strong aroma that entices even a shy fish to eat. This is why garlic is often added in fishfoods for SW fish. A lot of SW fish are wild caught and will refuse to accept commercial foods. Yes, mix it with food. If you want to use Kent's liquid garlic, three drops should be sufficient. Too much will confuse the fish.

I see I see. Do you reccomend I keep trying to feed them or just let the infection pass first?
Feed them. Their immune system needs a boost. Loss of appetite will only worsen their immune system.

Hmm I tried the garlic with pellets thing but that didn't work. Threw chunks of shrimp in though and he ate that. I really wanna get them back on pellets though. Ich seems to be clearing up along with cloudy eyes.
