Can fish scales grow back?

I i just bought a red wolf fish with a few "scatches on it's body. The scales there are missing. Are they going to grow back?

As long as the fish is otherwise healthy and there is no infection they should grow back fine.

I had an oscar with a bite mark with scales missing and Red Devil told me to keep the water pristine clean and it worked like a charm! A few days later and he was completely healed.
